Following Your Round — SMS opt-in
Following Your Round sends one kind of text: when your golfer finishes their round, the person they added gets a message saying so, with a private link to the same page. No marketing, no chains of reminders — a round finishes, one text goes out — and only to a number whose owner asked for them on the opt-in form themselves.
The opt-in form
The person who will receive the texts enters their own number here.
A golfer shares their personal link from the app — it looks like
duffersanonymous.com/follow/ABC12345 — and the form below is
what opens. Nothing is ever sent to a number that has not submitted this
form itself.
Program details
| Program name | Following Your Round — Duffers Anonymous |
| How to opt in | On the web form at duffersanonymous.com/follow/<code>, reached by a personal link the golfer shares. The person who will be texted enters their own mobile number and ticks an unchecked consent box carrying the full disclosure. No message is ever sent to a number that has not submitted that form itself. |
| Message frequency | 1 message per round your golfer finishes, plus 1 confirmation message when you are first added. Typically 1–4 messages per golf trip, and never more than 6 in a day. |
| To stop | Reply STOP to any message and they end immediately. Your golfer can also remove you in the app, which stops the texts and disables your link. |
| For help | Reply HELP to any message, or email support@duffersanonymous.com. |
| Cost | Message and data rates may apply. Duffers Anonymous charges nothing for these messages. |
| Privacy | Privacy Policy — mobile information is never sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Terms of Service. |
The real form is at duffersanonymous.com/follow/<code>. Your golfer sends you their link from the app; you enter your own number there. That link is the only way to start these texts.
Opting out
Reply STOP to any message and they stop immediately. Reply HELP for help, or email support@duffersanonymous.com. Your golfer can also remove you in the app at any time, which stops the texts and disables the link.
What a HELP reply gets you
"Duffers Anonymous: Following Your Round texts you 1 time per round your golfer finishes. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel. Help: support@duffersanonymous.com Privacy: duffersanonymous.com/privacy"
How consent works
The golfer types the number in, but the golfer is not the person being texted — so the golfer's tick is only a request. The number gets a single message asking for its own yes, and nothing further is sent unless it replies YES. A reply of STOP at any point ends it. This is double opt-in: the recipient, not the golfer, is the one who agrees.
What the messages look like
The one text sent before any consent, asking for it:
"Duffers Anonymous: Nate added you to Following Your Round. Reply YES for a text when their round finishes. Reply STOP to opt out. Msg&data rates may apply."
After a YES, the only recurring message — one per finished round:
"Duffers Anonymous: Nate just finished at Salt Creek. Should be home in about 1 hr. duffersanonymous.com/following/… Reply STOP to opt out."
