The group chat is the point.
Photos, needling and live match alerts in the same thread, attached to the trip they belong to. Not a text thread that also contains your dentist and a school run.

A trip's worth of photos, arguments and needling in a thread that belongs to that trip. Come back in eleven months when the same group is arguing about who actually won and it is all still there, next to the scores that settle it.
Photos where the trip is
Not in a shared album nobody opens twice, and not compressed into mush by a text thread.
Live match alerts
Somebody holing out two groups ahead shows up here, so the trip is one event rather than four separate rounds.
And when somebody takes an 8
The app has something to say about that too. It's reading the actual card, so the commentary is about the hole it happened on rather than a generic golf joke — and it lands in the thread where the group can pile on.
How the commentary worksWhy not just use the text thread?
Because the text thread has four people in it who aren't on the trip, the photos come out at a quarter of the resolution, nobody can find the tee times somebody posted in March, and it has no idea what the score is. The Clubhouse knows which trip it belongs to, which is the whole difference.
Clubhouse questions
Is the Clubhouse a separate chat app?
No. It's the trip's own thread inside Duffers Anonymous, so the conversation sits next to the schedule, the scores and the money rather than in a different app you'd have to get everyone onto.
Can I share photos in it?
Yes, and they stay with the trip. A year later they're still there alongside the round they were taken on, rather than buried in a shared album nobody opens twice.
What are live match alerts?
Notable moments from rounds in progress, posted into the thread as they happen. It means a group two fairways behind knows somebody just holed out, so the trip plays as one event instead of four separate rounds.
Does everybody on the trip need the app to take part?
To read and post in the Clubhouse, yes. Joining takes a six-character trip code rather than an account hunt, and one person can still keep score for a whole foursome.
Can I mute it?
Yes. Notifications are yours to control, and the AI commentary is a feed you can leave closed.
Does the thread stay after the trip ends?
Yes. Messages, photos and the final standings all remain, which is the point when the same group starts arguing about it again next year.
The rest of the trip
